Learning Through Play
Learning through play is serious work to your child. Through play, children learn to form relationships with other children and adults. They integrate their existing knowledge and experience into new creative possibilities and situations, rising to challenges, problem solving and representing their experiences symbolically.
They extend and develop their schemas (see section on schemas).
We use a variety of approaches to support children’s network of learning. These include a wide range of direct, first hand experiences, games, support for children’s representations and storying. Children integrate and develop their learning in their play - play pulls it all together.
